Chris Dimock, Principal

Chris Dimock is an Accredited Family Law Specialist.

Chris was first admitted, and practised, as a Solicitor in the United Kingdom. In 1983 he relocated to New South Wales and joined the firm of Sly & Russell, as it then was, assuming responsibility for the firm’s Family Law Department. After practising Family Law in Australia for 10 years, Chris attained Specialist Accreditation in Family Law in 1993 when the Law Society of New South Wales first introduced its scheme of specialist accreditation.

In 2002, Chris established Dimocks Family Lawyers as a boutique law firm committed to Family Law. He has now been practising Family Law exclusively in Australia for more than 25 years.

Chris regularly contributes to Continuing Legal Education programs in New South Wales in relation to Family Law matters. Most recently, he has delivered papers on the effectiveness of binding Financial Agreements between married couples since their introduction 7 years ago, and the Family Law (Shared Parental Responsibility) Act 2006.

Chris is also an accredited FindLaw Feature Writer in Family Law.

Chris is currently a member of the Family Law Section of the Law Council of Australia, and is a former Convener of the Family Law Committee of the City of Sydney Law Society.


Leah Georgakis, Solicitor

Leah completed a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Arts (International Studies) in 2002. Although based at the University of Technology, Sydney, Leah’s degree course included one year’s full-time study at the University of Athens in Greece. She was admitted as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of New South Wales on 6 December 2002.

Leah has more than 5 years’ experience of legal practice, but now practices exclusively in the area of Family Law.

Leah is working towards becoming an Accredited Specialist in Family Law and already has wide experience in this area, both in parenting and property matters, as well as disputes between de facto partners.

Leah is an active member of the Family Law Committee of the Young Lawyers Association of NSW.

Being fluent in modern Greek, Leah is happy to take instructions from Greek-speaking clients in Family Law matters.


Vanessa Jackson, Solicitor

Vanessa completed a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Arts at Macquarie University in 2002.  She was admitted as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of New South Wales on 3 October, 2003.

Vanessa has practised exclusively in the area of Family Law for more than 3 years.

She has experience in a wide variety of Family Law matters, and appears regularly in the Family Court and the Federal Magistrates' Court.  Vanessa is a member of the Family Law Section of the Law Council of Australia.
